Description

The Role

As our first operations hire, you will serve as a critical force multiplier for Kroo’s leadership. Working directly alongside the founders, your core mission is to manage and scale the non-engineering functions of the business.

This is not a traditional role. Your responsibilities will shift and expand as Kroo grows, requiring massive adaptability and a comfort with ambiguity. We are looking for an operator we can trust completely - someone who takes a high-level objective, maps out the strategy, and drives it to completion without needing a pre-written manual. You need to be able to think strategically and also roll up your sleeves to do the work. You love working with customers, developing industry relationships, and have a passion for our mission to democratize business intelligence for the construction industry.

Initially, you will focus on scaling our market presence via industry events & key partnerships, designing robust frameworks for our implementations process for how we deploy AI technologies, and structuring the revenue operations necessary for our next phase of growth. What You'll Do

While your role will change quickly as the business grows, here’s what you can expect to work on in your first 90 days.

  • Architect Operational Improvements: Design, document, and roll out ironclad operational workflows for how we deploy AI technologies to our customers (e.g. Kris by Kroo and other new product features in development). You will ensure these systems run seamlessly, which may require occasional travel to manage on-site rollouts and alignment with our customers.
  • Spearhead the Conference Circuit: Take end-to-end responsibility for our industry event strategy. You will identify high-leverage events, coordinate our logistics, and represent Kroo on the ground alongside Sales & the founders to drive brand awareness and pipeline growth.
  • Develop Key Partnerships: Work closely with the Founders to run point on maintaining existing relationships (industry vendors, trade organizations, etc.) and identify new, valuable partnerships.
  • Execute High-Priority Special Projects: Act as our internal Swiss Army knife. Whether it's evaluating a new vendor, operationalizing an internal team workflow, or unblocking a sudden operational bottleneck, you will step in and solve problems efficiently.
  • Drive Revenue Operations: Collaborate with leadership to project financial growth, build scalable internal processes, and optimize our revenue pipeline to prepare the business for its next growth inflection point.

About You

  • Autonomous Problem Solver: You naturally run toward open-ended challenges. You don't need a checklist to get started; you excel at looking at a chaotic situation.
  • Ownership mentality: You take immense pride in your work. Whether you are building a financial forecast or drafting an outbound message, you maintain a rigorous eye for detail and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Builder: We expect you to get in the weeds and have the mentality to “get it done”. You don’t expect things to be handed to you and you can develop things from the ground up.
  • Dynamic Communication Skills: You build rapport effortlessly across different groups. You are equally comfortable talking strategy with C-suite executives at a conference as you are collaborating with our team in the office.
  • Background: 1–4 years of experience in an environment that demands high output and rapid learning (e.g., early-stage startups, construction, management consulting, investment banking).
  • NYC-Based: You are living in or willing to relocate to New York City. We work hybrid in-person out of our NYC office to maximize collaboration and speed.
  • Customer-Obsessed: The most important thing to our company is serving the customer to the best of our ability. You care about our mission and our customers.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience navigating the early stages (Seed through Series A) of a tech startup.
  • Previous experience working with the construction industry
  • Strong baseline data skills (Excel/Presentation building) and comfort with foundational financial mechanics.
