We’re hiring an Engineering Technician II for our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.The Engineering Technician will develop and test solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
  • Performs extensive research and development during the creation phase of the product.
  • Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Conducts tests and collects data.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting equipment during the design phase.
  • Equipment Set up, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure proper operation of equipment and handling of materials and chemicals.
  • Keep the lab clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Comfortable handling basic issues and problems.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Problem-solving: Effective troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify the root cause of mechanical issues.
  • Basic computer skills: Familiarity with software for data analysis and documentation.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience required.
  • Technical school or an applicable skilled trades program, preferred.
  • Up to 2 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, or both for prolonged periods at a desk and/or machine.
  • Routinely lifts, carries and moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
