We’re hiring an IT Support Supervisor at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. The IT Support Supervisor partners with the IT Support Manager who directs the IT support team for PCs, software, networking, and access. Responsibilities include managing tickets, documentation, equipment, performance, and team development. They also collaborate on IT security/network access, provide direct support, resolve technical issues, suggest system improvements, develop policies/best practices, manage conflicts, implement IT strategy, schedule shifts, analyze metrics, set SLAs, promote customer service, offer training, follow change management, and maintain support systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees the work of a team of help desk specialists that support information systems products and services, including personal computers or peripherals, internet or installed software applications, or organizational networking or access issues.
  • Logs and tracks requests for help desk assistance and assigns tickets to representatives based on availability or expertise.
  • Develops and maintains installation or maintenance documentation.
  • May assist with purchasing, testing, or installing equipment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster professional development.
  • Collaborate with Networking and Infrastructure teams for optimal data security and network access.
  • Directly provide support for IT-related issues and oversee hardware, software, and network problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with management to enhance IT systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies and best practices.
  • Address team needs, resolve conflicts, and implement IT strategy improvements.
  • With the Manager, schedule shifts, analyze metrics, set service level agreements, and promote excellent customer service.
  • Provide training for operational procedures, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Follow change management practices and update end users on changes.
  • Maintain systems required for user support and perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software applications, field's policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, budgeting, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • ITIL 4, CompTIA, or similar certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours when necessary.
  • Commitment to staying current with technology trends and developments.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in an IT role
  • At least 1 year people management or mentorship experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
