We’re hiring a Category Manager- Compressed Air to support our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. This position is fully remote.

As a Category Manager reporting to the VP of Fleet you will be responsible for sourcing Compressed Air Products with a multi-million dollar annual budget and managing our growing rental fleet in this important equipment category. Use your deep understanding of technical specifications and field applications to enable EquipmentShare to buy the best available products, deliver them at the right time to the right place while working closely with ES service teams to maximize category product’s uptime and return.

Salary range: $109k-$170k. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing and Allocation: Working with the VP of Fleet, develop and implement a sourcing strategy for the procurement of Compressed Air Products. Involves understanding market needs, forecasting demand, and aligning procurement strategies with organizational objectives. Negotiate equipment pricing and terms to ensure favorable agreements for the organization while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Open Order Management for all products being purchased. Manage allocation of new products to branch locations and adjusting delivery cadence as needed to optimize utilization and availability for changes in demand.

Product quality: Ensure new products ship as specified with correct branding and EquipmentShare proprietary telematics installed at the factory. Non-conforming Product investigation, escalation, and resolution..New Product qualification.

  • Technical Expertise and knowledge of field applications acting as corporate product expert in support of sales and operations staff.
  • Service Support and performance monitoring: Work with EquipmentShare service team and suppliers to maximize the uptime of our Compressed Air fleet. Monitor the performance of all products within the category to identify areas for continuous improvement and fleet optimization.
  • Life-cycle and asset disposition: Assist with retail opportunities as needed. Work with EquipmentShare BA team to implement life cycle best practices including end of life disposition and remanufacturing or refurbishment where appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong technical product knowledge
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change.
  • Strong ownership mentality
  • High level of integrity, trust, and confidentiality required.
  • Negotiation and procurement experience preferred but not required

Education and Experience

  • At least 10 years hands-on experience with at least 2 within Category Product lines

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
  • Travel required
