We’re hiring a Production Associate for our Manufacturing facility in Moberly and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. The Machinist will set up, operate, and support computer numerical-control vertical turning centers to produce high quality production parts in a safe and efficient manner. Will use related components and equipment including metal cutting tools and inserts, tool holders, collets, fixtures, work holding and clamping equipment, various hand tools, and precision measuring instruments. Jib and overhead cranes used for material handling.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working from blueprint and utilizing standard work procedures, operating machines to perform routine machining processes.
  • Using a variety of measuring equipment and gauges, perform quality checks according to the quality plan to ensure the quality of the product produced.
  • Load raw stock into machines as required.
  • Meet or exceed production requirements or notify Team Lead or Manager as to the reason for deviation.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance and safety checks on machines.
  • Add coolant and lubrication to the machine as necessary.
  • Recognize operating irregularities, machine malfunctions, and troubleshoot problems to correct. If necessary, contact the Team Lead or Manager for assistance.
  • Perform changes and minor adjustments of all the tooling and attachments in the machine.
  • Always work safely and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
  • Keep the work area, equipment, machines, storage areas, etc. clean and orderly.
  • Communicate daily with other operators, Team Lead, and Manager as to the condition of machines and or parts within your responsibility.
  • Maintain records relating to production, downtime, quality, etc.
  • Offer suggestions for improving productivity, process, safety, work environment, housekeeping, etc.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager, or another designated person.
  • Instruct and train assigned operators on work methods, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment.
  • Must perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems.
  • Must also maintain good working relationships with others within the organization.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of machining centers controls and applications (i.e. HAAS & Okuma)

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education
  • At least 2+ years experience as a production worker or similar role in a manufacturing environment or technical degree in machining.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a space that lacks climate control.
